its been a while since i posted some testimonies from www.givesmehope.com...so...here's some i read 2day ;)
1. For 4 years, I've sent letters to 5 soldiers overseas. And when I was diagnosed with cancer, I didn't have enough money for my own treatment, and sent a final letter to each of the soldiers. All 5 of their companies donated their paychecks to me, because my letters gave them hope.
THEY gmh.
2. I was raped in 2007.
My best friend of 7 years was in the Army, and when I said I was going to kill myself, he told me to please wait for 2 days.
I didn't hear from him for 2 days. He came home on emergency leave, and held me as he cried, thanking me for waiting.
We got married yesterday. He GMH
3. My parents are divorced.
When I was a lot younger, my single mom was supporting my sister and I alone. At one point, she couldn't afford to feed us.
My father, at the time probably more worse off than us, doubled his child support payments, allowing us to eat when he couldn't.

4. Two months ago, my best friend died in a fire.
I was told that he would've made it out alive, except he ran back to try save his two-year-old half-sister. They found him holding her, she died in his arms while he was trying to protect her from the flames.

5. Today my 7 year old daughter gave my 5 year old son a kiss on the cheek.
After she walked away, I saw him rubbing the spot where she had kissed him.
I asked if he was wiping the kiss off. He said "no, I'm rubbing it in so it gets to my heart faster."
Siblings that truly love each other GMH!
6. As a child, I remember begging on the streets for money. I also remember a little boy who used his allowance to buy my mother and I food each weekend.
I remember my mom getting sick, the little boy taking us in, the love songs he wrote for me while we lived with them, and walking down the aisle with him.

7. Yesterday was the funeral of my aunt, and her two year old son was wearing a flashing pink headband.
When I asked him why, he said "So Mummy can see me when she looks down from heaven"
The way children can find hope in the most desperate of situations GMH
